We have built Capexplan for all industries. Because of this, Engineering Companies will find many benefits to using Capexplan for managing their projects.
Engineering Companies either initiate capex requests for their own projects, or on behalf of their clients. While in both cases the process is similar, the details might have small variations.
Similar to construction companies, Capexplan includes the ability to create Budget Proposals and have them approved. These budgets can also include multiple calculated fields. This can be practical for building up the cost of a capex or a project, by showing all the details of what makes up the costs. Budget Approvals can be done internally by following a determined Approval Flow. However, external users can also be added. These users can also be invited to participate in the budget process. The budget Function includes also all the tools for Transfer of Funds from one project to another within the same business unit or to another business unit, while comprising both an approval process and audit trail, which makes it easy to track where the money is going and why.
Engineering companies that provide services to customers can set up their Capexplan account in order to provide each customer with access to their own business units only. For example, an engineering company with customers A, B, C, and D can provide different access to each customer so that each customer can only see their own companies and their business units. Each customer can participate in the budget creation of their company’s business units. The same logic can apply for everything related to Capex Management, such as Request Approvals and Tracking.
This allows the Engineering Company to be able to compare projects between customers, share best practices and manage capex at different levels within their account. All while keeping a complete separation of data between each client.
Capexplan includes numerous functions related to Project Management, from creating multi-layer projects (projects that can include numerous capex, which in turn can include numerous smaller ones), to creation of Gantt charts in the capex creation process, all the way to adding assignees with specific roles and permissions to each individual project. And of course, the ability to view and track costs at all levels
