Capexplan for Manufacturing Companies

Manufacturing represents the largest segment of Capexplan users. Both in average account size as well as amount spent on Capex. For us, Manufacturing includes a wide range of companies ranging from Pharma to Mining, Plastics to Chemicals, Printing to Semiconductors, Vehicles to Medical Instruments, and many more.

Because of the importance of this segment, Capexplan provides companies with multiple functions which are suited for their needs.

Manufacturing companies tend to have numerous Capex and Opex requests of all sizes, ranging from small Maintenance Work to building new Manufacturing Plants. Their approval process also tends to be more complex than traditional industries. Here, Capexplan provides the help required. Approval Flows can include not only the typical Approvers, Observers, Recommenders and Notified Users, but the Approval Flow itself can include numerous conditions (ex: user A only approves if the request is of Capex Nature, if it is for the Operations Department, if it is a specific Asset Type (ex: motors), and if it is of an amount between 2 and 5 million).

During the Approval Process, users can be granted an Edit Access right (exclusive or nonexclusive) to be allowed to edit Specific Fields of the Request. This can be done prior to the start of the approval process, or during the process. This enables Specialists from other Department to collaborate on the Capex Request (ex: Energy Specialists, Environmental Consultants, Engineers, others).

Checklists and mandatories

When Capex Requests are complex, the number of Fields to be completed increase. And this can lead to requests that are submitted without being fully completed. For this, Capexplan helps Users in two ways. First, Users can set any field as Mandatory. These are fields that will need to be completed before the Request (capex and/or opex) can even be submitted for Approval. That way, the Approvers know that all Requests coming to them for Approval have the information that is required. Second, Capexplan enables Users to create Checklists. These are simply lists of items to verify before the Request is submitted for Approval. Similar to an Airline pilot validating if everything is ready before takeoff. Users can be made to review the Checklists even if they are not part of the Approval process, and they can be given tasks to verify specific fields within the Request (ex: the Energy Engineer which would only review fields related to Energy Savings).

Flexible templates

Capexplan provides Users the ability to create an infinite number of Templates to create Capex and Opex requests. Each Template can have its own fields and different Approval Flows. Templates can be named so that Users can rapidly know which Template to select for creating their Requests.
